About Terrie

Terrie Hellard Brown writes to encourage parents with tools to seize teachable moments in their children's lives.

Terrie is a teacher, missionary, minister, wife, and mother of four children, three of whom are on the autism spectrum. Her work often combines these passions: children’s stories that touch on issues faced by children with special needs, Christian education materials for all ages, workshops that combine ministry and education, and her podcast that enables parents to inspire their children through children’s literature.

She is the author of two devotional books for adults, A Mother’s Look at a Father’s Heart: A 60-day Devotional Book For Mom’s and Dads and Joy in the Journey of Faith: One Family’s journey in Missions by Faith. Her work also appears in the Upper Room devotional and Inspire Christian Writers anthologies Inspire Love, Inspire Kindness, and Inspire Grace.

Terrie has a Masters of Arts in Education (MAEd) from the University of Phoenix and over half her credits toward a Masters of Arts in Christian Education (MACE) from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. She is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, member of Writing at the Red House Collective, and a member and Critique Group Leader with Inspire Christian Writers.

Her motto is “Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be WONDERFUL!” and keeps her childlike joy by writing children’s stories, delighting over pink dolphins, and frequently laughing till it hurts.
